The BioValue consortium is pleased to announce the successful organization of the 42-month (M42) General Assembly Meeting, held on April 28–29, 2025, in the vibrant city of Izmir, Turkey. Hosted by our partners at Ege University, the meeting gathered project partners both on-site and online to reflect on progress and shape the final stages of the BioValue journey.
📍 Meeting Highlights
Over two full days, Work Package leaders and task leaders presented the latest results, deliverables, and developments for the third and final Reporting Period of the project. Emphasis was placed on the ongoing work in biodiversity exploitation, value chain innovation, product certification, and knowledge dissemination.

- Welcome Address by Project Coordinator Prof. Konstadinos Mattas
- WP7: Exploitation of genetic diversity (led by CUT, UNIBO, SOL, EGE, BIOLAND)
- WP8: Enhancing biodiversity links in the agri-food value chain (JLU, CAPNUTRA, UNIBO)
- BIOVALUE Tool Workshop: Hands-on demonstration and feedback session led by IDE with support from CUT, EGE, JLU, and AXIA
Day 2: Tuesday, April 29
- WP9: Product certification, testing, and labelling (ECOZEPT, NIBIO, UNIBO)
- WP10: Communication, Dissemination & Capacity Building (AXIA)
- Stakeholder Reflections: Insights from BIOLAND, CAGRI, and GFA on farming, food systems, and policy
- Governing Bodies Session: Final decisions approved by the General Assembly
- WP Integration: Final improvements and alignment of WP8, WP4, and WP10 efforts for the BIOVALUE tool
