On September 25–26, 2025, the BioValue Project consortium held its final meeting in Munich, hosted by AXIA Innovation GmbH. This significant event brought together project partners to review achievements, exchange ideas, and reflect on the journey toward driving transformative change in biodiversity and sustainable agri-food value chains.
Over the course of the project, BioValue leveraged a multi-actor, holistic approach to enhance biodiversity in spatial policymaking and agri-food systems. The project focused on key strategies such as integrating underutilized crops into European agri-food chains. These crops offer resilience to climate challenges and contribute to more sustainable and diverse diets, supporting both environmental and nutritional goals.
Noteworthy outputs include the development of innovative tools for policy impact assessment, certification schemes for biodiversity-friendly products, and a rich recipe booklet inspiring the adoption of biodiversity-supporting ingredients. By promoting sustainable practices across farming, processing, and retail, BioValue has provided new pathways for producers, consumers, and policymakers to foster agrobiodiversity.
The final meeting celebrated the dedication of all partners and recognized the collective achievements made possible by their collaboration. As the project concludes, BioValue’s outcomes set the stage for further progress in mainstreaming biodiversity within spatial planning, agri-food policy, and consumer habits across Europe.
