On June 21st, 2024, BioValue had the honour of being represented by our coordinator, Professor Dr. Konstantinos Mattas at the CYPRIOT Agricultural Institute. Prof. Mattas delivered a lecture on “Biodiversity and Mediterranean Diet: The Cypriot Example,” sharing valuable insights and results from our project.
The event took place in the Institute’s lecture hall at 12:00 p.m. and was attended by approximately one hundred participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, local farmers, and other key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
Prof. Mattas presentation highlighted the critical role of biodiversity in promoting a sustainable Mediterranean diet, emphasizing the unique agricultural practices and biodiversity found in Cyprus. His findings from our project underscored the importance of preserving and promoting biodiversity to ensure food security and enhance the nutritional value of the Mediterranean diet.
